Victory for Freedom of Speech at Northern Arizona University: Charges Dropped for Students Passing Out American Flags for 9/11
Northern Arizona University (NAU) has dropped disciplinary charges against two students who were distributing small American flags in the student union to commemorate the September 11 terrorist attacks. After no fewer than four administrators told the students that NAU policy prohibited their expression without a permit, the students came to FIRE for help. Read more about this outrageous case and about academia's terrible record in dealing with student and faculty reaction to 9/11 in The Daily Caller.
