Sam Rudovsky
Sam joined FIRE in 2025 following a clerkship with Judge Gerald McHugh of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Originally from Philadelphia, Sam graduated from Wesleyan University in 2016 and earned his J.D., cum laude, from Penn Law School in 2024. His internship with FIRE during law school played a critical role in his decision to pursue a career defending free speech, and he is thrilled to return to the organization. During law school, Sam authored a range of academic and public-facing pieces championing a principled, nonpartisan defense of free expression.
In his free time, Sam enjoys playing tennis, reading, making pasta, and supporting Philadelphia’s sports teams.
