While she indicates that she will stay on board for the conclusion of the Ward Churchill matter, it is quite obvious that the controversy surrounding the professor is a major contributing factor to her decision to resign. Fortunately, the president recently indicated that any action taken against Ward Churchill will not be based on his protected expression.
