Sofia Lopez
Sofia Lopez grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, where witnessing protests and government crackdowns sparked her passion for free speech and civil liberties. That passion brought her to the United States, where she graduated with high honors from the University of Michigan in 2022. It also brought her to FIRE, where she first interned in 2021 before returning to work on its legislative team after graduation. Now a law student at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, she is thrilled to be back at FIRE on our Campus Rights Advocacy team.
Outside of work and law school, Sofia enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing beach volleyball, and making the most of the Los Angeles sunshine.
