Noah Young
A proud Kentuckian, Noah earned his B.A. in Political Science (‘23) and his Juris Doctor (‘26) from the University of Louisville. Originally from Mercer County, Kentucky, Noah has a strong passion for public policy and civil liberties particularly in the rural South. As Program Counsel for Policy Reform, Noah tackles policy problems related to the rights of individuals on our college and university campuses to further support the protection and expansion of civil liberties across the country.
Prior to coming to FIRE, Noah worked in the Kentucky General Assembly for over six years. Most notably, Noah served as the General Assembly Liaison for the Kentucky Student Rights Coalition where he helped craft and advocate for several statutory reforms including tuition reform, performance based funding mechanism reform, due process protections, and credit transfer legislation.
The son and grandson of Southern Baptist preachers, Noah’s formative years and career have been defined by the importance of rhetoric and the free exchange of ideas that often start at the dinner table.
While not defending civil liberties at FIRE, Noah can be found reading fiction, lifting weights, hiking, listening to bluegrass music, or opining over a glass of bourbon.
