Polk County Sheriff's Office: Social Media Policy Bans "Inappropriate," "Offensive," and "Trolling" Comments

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida maintains a social media policy that bans, among other things, “[i]nappropriate” or “offensive” comments, comments that “abuse” or “[i]nclude racism, hatred,” or “vulgarity,” “trolling,” and “personal attacks.” The Sheriff’s Office has also reportedly hidden comments and blocked users from the Sheriff’s Office and Animal Control Facebook pages in response to protected speech.
