Emily Beaman
Emily Beaman is a podcast producer and editor and executive assistant at FIRE, bringing three years of experience in audio storytelling and media strategy. Before joining FIRE, she worked as a communications associate, supporting high-profile accounts across communications campaigns, social media strategy, and media outreach. During that time, she also produced The Next Innovation podcast, a top Apple tech show.
Before moving to Washington, D.C., Emily gained newsroom experience as a news editor and social media manager for The Wichitan and as an intern with News Channel 6 (KAUZ). She also served as a documentary research assistant on an award-winning investigative mini-documentary. Throughout her career, she has been driven by a passion for amplifying others’ voices, an approach she is excited to bring to FIRE as she works to help advance the protection of free expression for all.
Emily earned her M.P.S in Journalism from Georgetown University and holds a dual bachelor’s degree in political science and global studies from Midwestern State University. Outside of work, she enjoys hanging out with her dog, trying new sourdough recipes, and exploring new corners of the city.
