The Freedom of Speech Film Festival opens with Bob Fosse's Lenny, co-presented with the FIRE. The 1974 biopic earned six Academy Award nominations and stars Dustin Hoffman as Lenny Bruce, the comedian who spent the last years of his life fighting obscenity charges in court instead of working.
Stay after the credits for a conversation between FIRE Chief Counsel Robert Corn-Revere, who won Bruce a posthumous pardon in 2003, and Ronald Collins, FIRE Advisory Council member and co-author of The Trials of Lenny Bruce.
